Beyond the Machine

If you’re wondering where I was over the past few weeks, I was knee deep in some interactive technology for Juilliard’s annual Beyond the Machine show. I don’t have videos or photos yet, but here’s some more info about the show: http://www.juilliard.edu/degrees-programs/center-innovation-arts/beyond-machine?destination=node/19440

It was a great time that incorporated tons of video and some crazy interactive control. I can’t wait to get the photos and share what it was all about.

Working on the next version

Screen Shot 2015-03-26 at 10.50.47 AMHard at work on the next version of PM5D iPad control! Still a long way to go, but there are some begged-for features in store.

This version will include:

  • All 24 mix sends, pre/post, and send on/off
  • Flip Fader mode
  • Channel and mix EQ Control
  • Channel and mix compressor control
  • Graphic EQ control

Can’t wait to finish and get it out!

A Beautiful Song Played Beautifully

Back in my formative music tech years, I started playing with MIDI files through a program called Guitar Pro (which still exists!), which was very simple back in those days, and I was still clueless. It came with a bunch of example songs, many by a French guitarist named Michel Dalle Ave. This was my favorite song back then – I wish the recording quality was better, but the performance is fantastic.
